Dorothy Ann Mooney was born on June 24, 1935, in Pickens, South Carolina to Thomas and Macie (Reeves) Porter. The family lived in Pickens before traveling to Oregon when she was a young child. Dorothy married her husband Thomas Mooney Sr. on August 8, 1955, in Astoria, Oregon. They settled in the Clatskanie area in 1965. Dorothy loved her family dearly! She was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Dorothy was a woman of faith who faced many trials during her life. Her trust in the Lord never failed. She enjoyed the outdoors; especially, spending time in the mountains hunting, going for drives, or enjoying a picnic by a creek. Gardening was also a favorite activity of hers, resulting in beautiful flowers and vegetables. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Mooney Sr. on November 6th of this year. As well as her parents, sons Thomas James and Robert Dale, daughter-in-law Candy, grandchildren Tony, Amy and Robert Mooney. Dorothy is survived by daughter Sharon (Doug) Jordan, siblings Mattie Danielson of Clatskanie, Shirley Tilton of Vancouver, Barney Reece (BR) of Clatskanie, Ola Wanless of Forest Grove, and Nellie (Dewey)Thornton of Clatskanie. Grandchildren Carrie (Mark) Crape, Jeremy (Yvette) Jordan, Jason (Angela) Jordan, Christopher (Savannah) Mooney, Kyle (Ashley) Mooney and Chaz Mooney. Great-grandchildren Amber (Jonny) Hollis, Erica Settle, Hunter Settle, Austin Jordan, Jazmine Jordan, Shaun Jordan, Ashley Jordan, Ember Mooney, Kinsley Mooney, Abigail Mooney, Jackson Mooney. Great-great-grandchildren Jayden Settle, Grant Hollis, Stella Dorothy Hollis (Due 11-29-24). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a private graveside service for immediate family at Murray Hill Cemetery.
