Marvin Gene Kellar was born on July 8, 1938 to Milford and Ruth (Rea) Kellar in Rainier Oregon. After graduating from Rainier Union High School, Marvin joined the US Navy, serving for 3 years. He married his wife Evelyn on December 1, 1956 at the Rainier United Methodist Church in Rainier Oregon. One thing about Marvin is he never stopped learning; up to his time of passing he was working on his thesis in Nuclear Medicine, Marvin worked as a Nuclear Medicine Technician in the Medical Field for 22 years before retiring in 1999 then he went on to work at Reynolds Aluminum chemist for 8 years. He was part of several clubs and organizations including Nuclear Med Society, Health Physics Society, Master Gardener, RUMC, various horticulture clubs/organizations, Ruth Readers Book Club as well as Fern Hill Grange. After retiring, Marvin and his cousin Larry travelled the Pacific North West photographing flora and fauna.
Marvin is survived by his wife Evelyn at home, a sister Jannice of Salem Oregon, his children Kathryn of Rainier, Karen of Troutdale, Gerry of Salem and John of Kenai Alaska, 6 nieces, 2 nephews, 15 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Julie.
