Patrick Charles Velliquette

Patrick Charles Velliquette, a beloved educator and musician, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025, in Longview, Washington. Born on December 27, 1978, in Honolulu, Hawaii, Patrick was a soul who radiated warmth and passion for music and teaching for many years of his life.

A graduate of Clatskanie High School, Class of 1997, Patrick's love for education began early. He achieved his AA from LCC in 2000 and furthered his studies at the University of Oregon, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Music Performance. In 2024, he completed his journey of academic excellence with a Master’s in Education from George Fox University.

Patrick’s career in education spanned nearly two decades, during which he left an indelible mark on the lives of countless students. He served at Riverdale Baptist School in Marlboro, Maryland, from 2005 to 2014, before moving on to Turlock Christian in Crescent City, California, from 2020 to 2022. His dedication to nurturing young minds carried him to the Riddle School District in Brookings, Oregon, and ultimately Rainier High School in Rainier, Oregon, where he continued to inspire students until 2025.

Among his proudest accomplishments, Patrick cherished his involvements with Clatskanie Baptist Church from a tender age and his contributions to Columbia County 4H as a supportive leader. His musical prowess was showcased through his participation in the University of Oregon Marching Band at the prestigious Rose Bowl, as well as his performances with the Lower Columbia Symphony, where he played the trumpet with great skill and passion.

Patrick is survived by his loving family: his father, Aloysius "Wish" Velliquette; his mother, Marianne (Ribble) Velliquette; his sister, Keraline Rose and her husband, Matt Rose; his grandmother, Doris Ribble; and his aunts, Debbie Ribble and Nancy Johnston. He was a cherished cousin to Corey Thompson, Matice Felty, Ron Thompson, Justin Ribble, Aaron Ribble, Ami Zimmerman, and Christi Mitchell. Patrick was also a devoted uncle to his numerous nieces and nephews, including Levi, Emma, Brandon, and Faith Rose.

His life was a beautiful tapestry of education, music, and love woven together with the golden threads of friendship and familial bonds. A memorial service to celebrate Patrick’s impactful life and legacy will be held on September 6, 2025, at Rainier Jr/Sr High School in Rainier, Oregon, beginning at 11:00 AM.

Patrick's heart and spirit will forever resonate with those he taught and loved. His legacy is one of compassion, creativity, and commitment to fostering the potential within others. He will be profoundly missed, but his impact will surely echo throughout the lives he touched.
